Penicillin is a bactericidal against penicillin-susceptible microorganisms. Streptomycin is an
aminoglycoside antibiotic with bactericidal activity against both gram-negative and some grampositive bacteria. Penicillins and aminoglycosides act synergistically.
Species
Bacterial infections in horses, cattle, calves, swine, sheep, goats, dogs and cats, caused by microorganisms susceptible to penicillin and/or streptomycin.
Contains per ml suspension:
Benzylpenicillin procain ………………….. 200,000 IU
Dihydrostreptomycin sulphate ……………… 200 mg
For intramuscular or subcutaneous (dog and cat) administration.
Shake well before use to resuspend.
Horse, cattle …….. 1 ml per 20 kg body weight per day for up to 5 days
Calves, sheep, goats, dogs and cats ……….. 1 ml per 10 kg body weight per day for up to 5 days
The dose volume should not exceed 20 ml in cattle, 10 ml in swine, 5 ml in sheep and goats at any one injection site.
To avoid underdosing, the body weight of the animals should be determined with accuracy.
Store dark and below 25°C. Do not freeze.
After first opening the product should be stored dark and refrigerated (ca. 8°C).
