Species
For treatment of weakness, pain in the course of delivery, lactation failure in sows (mastitis, agalactia), uterus atonia, retention of the placenta, postpartum haemorrhage, prolapse of the uterus, atonia of the intestines and the urinary bladder, postpartum agalactia and torsion of the gravid uterus.
Oxytocin
For intramuscular or subcutaneous administration.
– Mares, cows: 4 – 5 ml per animal.
– Ewes, goats: 1 – 3 ml per animal.
– Sows: 2 – 4 ml per animal.
– Bitch: 0.5 – 1 ml per animal.
– Cats: 0.3 – 0.5 ml per animal.
If necessary repeat after 2 – 3 hours.
Withdrawal time:
– For meat: 1 day.
– For milk: 1 day.
Contra-indications:
– Unopened cervix. Wrong position of foetus or uterus.
– Obstructive dystocia. Hypersensitivity to oxytocin.
