Stimulation of smooth muscle in the oestrogen sensitised uterus. Action on the mammary gland
stimulates milk let down.
Species
Uterine inertia during parturition, postpartum bleeding, retained placenta and metritis, uterine
involution after manual correction of prolapsed uterus, agalactia.
Contains per ml solution:
Oxytocin ……………………………………………… 10 IU
Administration by deep intramuscular injection:
Mares, cows, sows ……… 1 – 4 ml
Ewes, goats ……………. 0.2 – 1 ml
Dogs ……………………… 0.2 – 1 ml
Cats ……………………..0.2 – 0.5 ml
Recommended dose for intravenous injection: 25% of intramuscular dose, diluted 1:10 in sterile
water for injections.
Where speed of onset is not a priority, the product may be given by the subcutaneous route.
Store below 25°C. Do not freeze.
After first opening the product should be stored dark and refrigerated (ca. 8°C).
