Ceftiofur is a cephalosporin antibiotic with bactericidal activity against both gram-positive and
gram-negative bacteria
Species
For the treatment of bacterial infections in cattle caused by micro-organisms susceptible to ceftiofur, especially:
Cattle: bacterial respiratory disease associated with P. haemolytica, P. multocida & H. somnus; acute interdigital necrobacillosis (panaritium, foot rot) associated with F. necrophorum and B. melaninogenicus; bacterial component of acute post-partum (puerperal) metritis within 10 days of calving associated with E.coli, A. pyogenes & F. necrophorum, sensitive to ceftiofur.
Contains per ml suspension:
Ceftiofur (as HCl) ………………………………… 50 mg
For subcutaneous (cattle) or intramuscular (cattle, swine) administration.
Shake well before use to resuspend.
Cattle: 1 – 2 ml per 50 kg body weight per day (2 mg ceftiofur per kg body weight)
For respiratory disease on 3 – 5 consecutive days; for footrot on 3 consecutive days; for metritis on 5 consecutive days.
Store dark and below 25C. Do not freeze.
After first opening, the product should be stored dark and refrigerated (ca. 8°C)
