Florfenicol is a synthetic broad spectrum antibiotic effective against most Gram-positive
(cocci) and Gram-negative (bacilli) bacteria and mycoplasmas isolated from domestic
animals. Florfenicol acts by inhibiting protein synthesis at the ribosomal level and is
bacteriostatic. Bactericidal activity has been demonstrated in-vitro against, among others,
Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus,
Enterobacter cloacae, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhimurium,
Actinobacillus pleuropenumoniae.
Treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal and respiratory infections in poultry and swine
caused by microorganisms susceptible to florfenicol such as Pasteurella spp., Actinobacillus
spp., Salmonella spp, Streptococcus spp. etc.
Contains per ml oral solution:
Florfenicol……………………200 mg
For oral administration in drinking water.
Poultry: 1 litre per 2,000 litres of water, continuously, for 3 days.
(ca. 30 mg florfenicol per kg body weight).
Shake well before use!
Medicated water should be used immediately and refreshed every 24 hours for the duration
of the treatment and should be the only source of water for animals during the period of treatment.
Store below 25°C. Do not freeze.
