Buparvaquone is a second generation hydroxynaphtaquinone active against both the schizont and
piroplasm stages of Theileria spp., and can be used during the incubation period or when clinical
signs are apparent.
Theileriosis in cattle, caused by the intracellular protozoan parasites Theileria parva (East Coast fever,
Corridor disease, Zimbabwean theileriosis) and T. annulata (tropical theileriosis).
Contains per ml solution:
Buparvaquone ……………………………………. 50 mg
For intramuscular administration, preferable in the neck musculature.
Recommended dose ………………………. 1 ml per 20 kg body weight
In severe cases the treatment may be repeated after 48-72 hours and the new injection should be
administered on the other side of the neck, opposite to the first site of injection. The body weight
should be determined with accurancy. Do not administer more than 10 ml in one injection site.
Store dark and below 25°C. Do not freeze.
