Oxytetracycline is a highly active, broad spectrum tetracycline antibiotic with bacteriostatic activity
against a wide variety of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. The product is specifically
formulated to provide a prolonged action resulting in sustained antibacterial activity.
Bacterial infections in cattle, swine and sheep, caused by microorganisms susceptible to
oxytetracycline such as atrophic rhinitis, navel/joint ill, respiratory tract infections, metritis, mastitis,
urinary tract infections, shipping fever, liver abscesses, salmonellosis, dysentery, erysipelas, foot
rot and the control of enzootic abortion in sheep.
Contains per ml solution:
Oxytetracycline (as dihydrate) …………….. 200 mg
For intramuscular or subcutaneous administration.
Recommended dose: 1 ml per 10 kg body weight
If required, repeat after 48 hours.
The dose volume at one injection site should not exceed 20 ml in cattle, 10 ml in sheep or 5 ml.
To avoid underdosing, the body weight of the animals should be determined with accuracy.
Store dark and below 25°C. Do not freeze.
